Lo dico sempre: amo Instagram, mi permette di conoscere meglio le persone che mi seguono e seguo, ma anche di scoprire tantissime creative piene di talento con cui, in alcuni casi, nascono amicizie e collaborazioni.
Una di queste è senz’altro l’olandese Sandra Van Den Broek, conosciuta per caso quando aveva qualche centinaio di followers, ora si ritrova con migliaia e collaborazioni importanti, fra cui quella con il magazine Flow.
Non è una crafter o un’artigiana nel senso più stretto del termine, ma usa il cibo invece di carta, washi tapes e fustelle per realizzare immagini deliziose il cui stile mi sento affine.
Ho il piacere di presentarvi Sandra e il suo mondo, ci rimarrete secchi!
Ciao, mi chiamo Sandra Van Den Broek e vivo in Olanda. Anche se ho 41 anni, mi piace ancora giocare (a chi lo dici, cara Sandra, nda), negli ultimi anni principalmente con il cibo, ho cominciato circa un anno e mezzo fa.
Avevo fatto un toast ai miei due figli, che ora hanno 10 e 12 anni, e per renderlo più accattivante vi avevo aggiunto delle faccine divertenti. E’ stato l’inizio di una ossessione!
Soltanto più tardi ho capito che giocare col cibo mi dava la stessa sensazione del giardinaggio, che può suonare un po’ stupido a dirsi.
Ho avuto un appezzamento di terreno per anni, ma poi ho dovuto smettere di prendermene cura a causa dei reumatismi, purtroppo.
Ma come con il giardinaggio, giocare con il cibo mi rilassa la mente ed è un buon metodo per connettermi con la terra ed essere più con i piedi per terra, che per me è una cosa positiva perchè sono una sognatrice e tendo a fuggire con la mente!Ed ovviamente ho bisogno di essere creativa e di giocare, come di essere felice e di sentirmi viva.
A parte giocare con il cibo, amo disegnare e costruire cose con le pietre, i fiori, rametti e tutto quello che posso trovare. Mi piace fare foto di quello che creo. Giorno e notte penso costantemente a cosa potrei creare.
La cosa che preferisco dell’usare il cibo è che ho sempre in cucina qualcosa che posso usare e, anche se posso fare una foto del risultato, non posso conservarlo.Il che è una cosa che mi dà lo stesso divertimento che fare un castello di sabbia in spiaggia…mi piace la temporaneità della cosa, ti impedisce di prenderla troppo sul serio. As I often say, I love Instagram.Through it, I have the chance of knowing better my followers and who I follow but mostly I often discover talented people all around the world, with whom sometimes I build an online friendship and collaborations. Hi, I am Sandra van den Broek and live in Holland. Although 41 years old , I’m still playing (me too Sandra! Gaia)!
The last few years mainly with food.I started about 1,5 years ago.
I made my son and daughter, who are now 10 and 12 years old, a toast and cheered it up with some cute faces.
That was the start of an obsession.
Only later I realized that playing with food does the same to me as gardening. Which sounds maybe a bit silly.
I had an allotment for years, but due to getting rheuma, I had to stop gardening, unfortunately.
Like gardening, playing with food gives me a peace of mind and it’s a good way to connect with the earth and being grounded, which is positive for me because I am a bit of a dreamer or escaper!
And of course I need to be creative and to play, as I need to be happy and feel alive.
Besides playing with food, I do love drawing and making things with stones, flowers, sticks and all I can find.
I love to take pictures as well.Day and night I always think about things I can make.
The good thing with playing with food is, there is always something in my kitchen to use. And okay you can make a picture of the result, but you can’t safe the creation. Which gives it the same fun as making a sandcastle at the beach: I like the temporarity of it. You can’t get too serious about it.
