Qualche tempo fa ho comprato dei gomitoloni di Zpaghetti, la fettuccia di DMC.
E’ un materiale che mi piace molto e volevo finalmente provare a realizzare qualcosa di diverso, così, mentre mi spacco le mani con un progetto infinito di centrotavola (seguendo un pattern anni ’50 che va aggiustato ad ogni passaggio), ho pensato ad un’idea anche per chi non sa usare l’uncinetto.
Il tutorial è stato creato per il Food Immersion Festival di Reggio Emilia appena trascorso (a proposito, non fatevelo scappare l’anno prossimo!), ma ora lo condivido anche qui con voi!

1 gomitolo di fettuccia in jersey Zpaghetti DMC

Spilli
Ago e filo in tono con il jersey
Tempo: 3 ore circa.
1-Taglia 3 pezzi di filato da circa 1,50 cm, fai un nodo all’estremità e fai una treccia, non stringendo troppo o il filato ti creerà delle ondulazioni.
Ripeti per circa 4 trecce
2-Partendo con una treccia, sciogli il nodo e tenendo le estremità in modo che non si sciolga, comincia piano piano ad arrotolarla a spirale, tenendo la treccia piatta e le estremità iniziali verso di te. Ferma man mano la spirale con gli spilli.Quando finisce la treccia, sciogli il nodo finale e sovrapponi le estremità, continua con la nuova treccia sempre a spirale.
3-Appena raggiunta la circonferenza voluta, realizza le orecchie come in foto, tagliando la parte in eccedenza e fissando tutto con gli spilli, ripeti per l’altra orecchia.
4- Fare un ultimo giro di treccia come “cornice” alla tovaglietta e alle orecchie.Fissare con gli spilli e tagliare le estremità lunghe.
5- Con punti filza, fissare a spirale la tovaglietta con ago e filo, occhio, qui ci vuole un po’ di pazienza, non abbiate fretta di finire! Cucite bene specie le estremità di inizio e fine delle trecce.Quando avete fatto, sollevate la tovaglietta e controllate se ci sono degli spazi aperti tra le trecce ed eventualmente aggiungete qialche punto! Buona colazione!

Some time ago I bought a ball of Zpaghetti, the jersey yarn from DMC.
It’s a fiber that I really like and I wanted to finally try out something different, so I thought of developing an idea for those who can’t crochet.
The tutorial was created for a workshop I did last sunday in Reggio Emilia for the Food Immersion Festival, but now I share it here!
You will need:
1 ball of Zpaghetti yarn by DMC
scissors
pins
a needle and thread (color must match the jersey yarn)
Time: about 3 hours.
1 – Cut 3 pieces of yarn from about 1.50 cm each, make a knot in the end and weave a braid, not too tight or the thread will create ripples.
Repeat for about 4 braids.
2 – Starting with one of the braids, untie the knot and, holding the ends so they will not untie, start to slowly roll it up in a spiral, keeping the braid flat and the ends towards you. Block the spiral with some pins.When the braid ends, loose the knot end and overlap the 2 different ends (the starting braid and the following one), follow with the new braid (always in spiral shape).
3 – As soon as you reach the size you need, create the kitty ears as in the photo, cutting off the excess and blocking everything with pins, repeat for the other ear.
4 – Add a final “round” with a braid like a frame for the placemat and ears.Block with pins and trim the ends.
5 – Now sew the placemat spiral with needle and thread: here it takes a little patience, do not rush to finish earlier! Sew tightly expecially the different braids’ ends.When you’re done, raise the mat and see if there are some open spaces left between the braids and possibly add some more sewing points! Have a yummy breakfast!
